Nearly 1 in 5 adults, age 18 and over living in the U.S, report experiencing mental health illness in 2016. That’s roughly 44.7 million people. (CDC, 2018)
To many, the term “mental health” remains a largely taboo topic, especially in the workplace. Many employees feel that the discussion of their mental health could negatively impact job security, or a promotion. Having poor mental health can negatively impact performance, productivity, work engagement, communication and day-to-day functioning.
